A great brand name, Bissell is well known for being a good competitor in the steam cleaner industry, but the reviews on Amazon weren’t all that excited, even as Bissell Steam Mop Hard Floor Cleaner manages to get a large number of 5 star ratings the negative comments are quite startling, this causes buyers to be cautious. So what about it? Not one to judge before using, I decided to try it.

So about the Bissell Steam Mop Hard Floor Cleaner, the design is quite compact, being an upright steam cleaner without having all of its mechanics in a roll along body; you can save more room with storage, It fits well where any ordinary broom or mop would fit (cupboard, locker), even with its water tank attached to it. This model the “green tea” named accordingly due to its color I suppose, it features a cord wrap, a great feature to have, but the cord only being 17 feet long, you might be wishing for a longer cord over the wrap.

It is rather short, this requires one to bend slightly while using it, but you might expect a short and compact steam mop to fit fabulously under furniture, but you are in for a disappointment, it can’t even work its way under my sofa, this is thanks to its bulky head being unable to bend forward.

The swivel head on the other hand was quite responsive with its left and right movement, it’s not loose nor is it tight, it has that smooth yet entirely controllable feel.

Sadly this only comes with 1 steam jet, but that 1 steam jet is capable of spitting out steam almost as good as a 5 or 6 steam jet model, this however is entirely in vain, as the temperature of the steam is at a pathetic 125 degrees Fahrenheit, this means longer time spent on a single area, and another crippling feature that ruins this is that the tank only holds 13 ounces of water, so put them all together and you obviously won’t be getting much done.

The water heater is a joke; it requires a filter which I need to replace after a buildup occurs. Also the fact that I need to pump the darn thing every time I want to get steam out is quite a pain.

I guess the only thing which I honestly like and think is a great part would be the microfiber pads, if this Bissell Steam Mop Hard-Floor Cleaner was a little more efficient I would definitely buy more of these pads, they are washing machine safe and can be mounted on most Bissell mops. Overall this steam cleaner is just not that good, the price may get you all exited, but you will probably regret buying it as adding another $50 would get you a better steam cleaner.

Steam mops and steam cleaners too household for what you are doing? Need something that can clean more than just floors? Well McCulloch has a line of portable steam cleaners, that would just be the thing to melt off all that grease you have on that grill, but that’s what they claim to do, so its time I put McCulloch MC1246 Portable 1500-Watt Power Steam Cleaner to the test to see if it really is worth trying out.

Having that iconic McCulloch yellow, the portable power steam cleaner seems well made, the feel is pretty good, it’s not cheap plastic and is entirely sturdy for a steam cleaner, it comes with a shoulder strap, nothing fancy but I find it quite annoying to have it hanging by your sides while you are using the head, I prefer to leave it on the ground or lift it with the handle.

The 33 ounce tank is quite large, it gives a lot of steaming time, almost up to an hour on a full tank, its enough for me to clean the family station wagon.

The hose is as usual very flexible; it has a head that will connect to all the extras that it comes with, this is great, I have a soft spot for things that come with extra heads and accessories, things to fiddle with and keep the machine from being a boring piece that won’t see its fair share of uses. The extras include a mop head and some small brushes; there are 2 connecting rods which can extend the length of the connections.

I am entirely curious about the steam capabilities of this McCulloch MC1246 Portable 1500-Watt Power Steam Cleaner, the first time I used it I waited a few minutes for the water to boil, but after I squeezed the trigger water came out, at this point I was unsure whether the steamer was ready or not, so I decided to try again, and well this time steam came out, but sometimes water take the place of steam, I am unsure why this happens, it could be that the steam condenses as it goes through the hose?

The steam the McCulloch produces is pretty good, it’s hot and I can get muck off my stove, I tend to use this for almost all my furniture. However as a side effect of being very powerful the steamer does heat up after long uses, and when it heats up not only is there a chance of it breaking down but I remember hearing somewhere that overheating electrical appliances consume twice as much energy.

Well there isn’t much to be said about this McCulloch MC1246 Portable 1500-Watt Power Steam Cleaner, it works as well as steam mops, with hot steam enough to sanitize your home, the price is quite expensive considering a few factors, McCulloch could have done better.

Euro-Pro Shark S3501 Deluxe Steam Pocket Mop, what a name, and “pocket mop”? Well it doesn’t fit snugly in your pocket, but I think the term pocket would be best used to represent how easy it is to use this steam mop. Amazon reviewers were having mixed feelings but to my assurance the positive reviews were abundant and the negative reviews were not that worrying enough to deter me from trying it out.

I am really delighted with the double sided function, this totally removes the need for me to replace the mop head every time it gets diluted with muck and grime, I can run the entire bathroom with one side and do the walls with the other, unlike other steam cleaners of the same size (or a little larger) I have to remove the pads or suffer the penalty of streaks all over the floor. And the dual side function isn’t some difficult or complicating function all you have to do is flip it over. The pads are also washing machine safe.

To get the steam going you don’t have to constantly pump the cleaner, instead with every forward motion you do, it produces just enough force to squeeze the double sided pad and let loose steam which was trapped in between. I’m not really sure about the steam but it’s not as hot as the other steam cleaners I have, this is probably due to the steam condensing in between the pads, so I’m a little worried about bacteria running loose on my floor.

The handle of this Euro-Pro Shark S3501 Deluxe Steam Pocket Mop is quite impressive with swivel head and all, it turns 180 degrees so says the manual, I’m not one with numbers so all I can say is that it gets under and trough all that it needs to, so you never have to worry about having a secret congregation of dust mites under that lazy chair.

The water tank holds a little above 10 ounces I think, I am really uncertain of this, but I can say it lasts as well as my 13 ounce Bissell.

The height of this thing is definitely too short, I have to bend over to use it, this is terrible I can’t imagine myself a few years from now developing some crippling back problem due to constantly bending over like this, but lucky me I only used this twice so far and for less than a few minutes.

Plastic and flimsy this Euro-Pro Shark S3501 Deluxe Steam Pocket Mop is alright, if they however had thrown in the triangle head and purple hardwood head for free I would definitely have enjoyed it, and would recommend to my friends and relatives.

The design itself was very appealing and was the main reason I bought this, already having another steam cleaner it would make no sense to buy another, but the steam cleaner I already have is quite large and a pain to get up to the second floor, but this one I just toss it into the little locker next to the bathroom where my mops and brooms used to be, perfect location for a handy thing like this.

Using this Haan Slim & Light Steam Cleaner SI-35 is entirely easy, from the box you just have to snap together all the parts, the little container that holds 13.5 ounces is very small and I barely noticed it the first time, it fits so well with the unit, just fill it up and plug the cord in, turn it on and wait for it to boil this may take a few minutes but nothing too long.

The head comes with a marvelous 15 jets to spray out steam, and the boiler produces extra hot 212 degree Fahrenheit steam which is enough to get the germs packing (well actually curling up and meeting an untimely demise). The head, which is the part that needs to be in contact with the floor to be able to clean is 6 by 13 inches, this is good, as a wider head means you cover more ground, but it’s not too big that you are unable to fit it into small places.

The long body and handle of this thing means I don’t have to bend, or lower myself a little just to clean, I know some of you might be wondering what a little bending is going to cost you? Well you might not feel it now but in the future you might be experiencing back aches and all sorts of nasty back related problems if you keep bending over just to get some dust off your carpet.

One problem that comes with something that says compact is that it won’t last long, this steam cleaner has a small tank which means frequent refill and the power cord is a little short, but why complain, it cleans as well as any large steam cleaner.

So re-usable and washable pads, and tap water capable all add up to a cost effective product, so if you are looking for something to clean a small house with and don’t want to drag around a large cleaner on wheels then you should definitely get this Haan Slim & Light Steam Cleaner SI-35.

Need a steamer for your hard wood and masonry? Well then the smart choice would be to go for a cleaner that can sanitize quickly, so you won’t have to hover over a singles spot for too long which in time will definitely cause the toughest and most protected hardwood floors to absorb moisture and warp. Setting this up is just like any other steam cleaner or regular vacuum cleaner, a simple click and snap together assembly leaves you with a steam mop at your disposal. But a few days after buying I decided to take a look at what users thought about the Enviro, and one of the comments said that this is not good for unsealed hardwood, well now that is a pain, it defeats the purpose of cleaning any sort of hard wood now, unless you have those glossy varnished or clear lacquer coated floors, so I guess it’s on to tiles only then.

The whole feel of this Eureka 313A Enviro Hard-Surface Floor Steamer is not flimsy, although it looks like it could break if a poodle were to run head first into it, but even if it feels good and strong, users also commented that some parts which you barely notice will break and leave you with a worthless stick thing that won’t produce steam or even mop up dirt so I am not sure whether this is the cause of poor manufacturing or an unlucky customer, but it would be wise to be extra careful with it.

The steam is hot (220 degrees), and is definitely good at sanitizing your floor (if it can cause nasty burns on your feet the germs don’t stand a chance), but the steam heating system does need a few uses to be in its top condition, as the first time I used it the boiler was not at its prime and it was leaving little drops of hot water instead of steam, this problem fixes itself after a few more uses.

At 23 feet the cord is pretty long, so no more worrying about having to unplug and relocate often, I can go around the entire hall without relocating to another socket, but that is only if I didn’t have furniture all over the place.

The best part of this is probably it 20 ounce tank, that’s right 20 ounces! That’s more than 20 minutes of cleaning, I never have to worry about constantly filling the tank over and over again, I can just go through an entire floor of my house on a single tank, and still have enough to do the bathroom (well if I could get the tank on my shark then that would be great)

I do recommend this Eureka 313A Enviro Hard-Surface Floor Steamer for your tiles, but not for something too dirty, because it doesn’t absorb the dirt as well as other cleaners, but the temperature and the tank is great for maintenance cleaning.

Handheld steam cleaning in the pals of your, well hands obviously, the McCulloch offers just that, a handheld steam blower that could just possibly be the one to melt away all that muck under your counter. The price was quite a whopper for its size, but I figured it would pay for itself after I began using it, so here is what I think about the McCulloch MC1235 1300-Watt Handheld Steam Cleaner.

Using this is very simple; it’s like a gun, with a power cable, pretty much like operating a power tool only without needing to be a masculine man to handle it. The design is pretty much 100% focused on getting the job done, which is spitting out steam at whatever you wish.

Regular steam mops or closed tank steam cleaners will have you filling their tank once it’s empty, and you have to stop whatever it is you are doing during refills and wait for the unit to cool, not with this one, the tank has a little cap on the top, open and pour regular old tap water in it and continue on with your steaming, or if you are those extremely resourceful and creative types, why not add a little extension to it, like a water bottle or even a garden hose, if I could do that I would see myself with infinite steam cleaning capabilities (but that would definitely breach your warranty).

Amazon says this McCulloch MC1235 1300-Watt Handheld Steam Cleaner is powered by 1300 watts, well I don’t know how strong that is but in general it definitely melts the gunk that builds up on my stove right off, so I guess it’s some pretty good steaming power, and assuming that wattage adds to how fast it boils the water, then I guess 1300 watts is really something to be able to heat up the water in just 30 seconds.

After playing around with the steamer itself I decided to take a look at the accessories that it came with; detail brush, floor brush, squeegee and a few more, I used to squeegee on my window and mirrors since I haven’t given them a good cleaning in a while, and it works great, with only a single swipe I got the finger prints off the mirror.
However the unit does make a racket, it’s pretty loud, but nothing that would cause me to enjoy using it, the switches on the other hand are of poor quality, it’s not that they are bad or faulty, but rather they don’t have a good lock to them, so you might find yourself keeping your fingers on the switch the whole time just to make sure it’s at maximum.

Aside the problem mentioned above, the tank cap is rather flimsy feeling, not anything to worry about, but one thing to worry about would be that the steamer heats up after a few minutes, and its not advised to continue using it if you feel that it’s a little hotter than usual.

But for its worth this little handheld wonder is definitely something that will keep you finding an excuse to use it, and I am certain that you, just like me will find numerous uses for this McCulloch MC1235 1300-Watt Handheld Steam Cleaner.

Haan MS-30 Multi-Purpose Steam Cleaner

Seeing this on an infomercial once, got me wondering how easy can this work? The person in the add was just using a cloth like attachment for wooden floor surfaces and then a carpet attachment for her carpets obviously, there were a few other extras. After a few weeks I saw the Haan MS-30 Multi-Purpose Steam Cleaner for sale on Amazon, so I told myself why not?

Alright so here are the things I found to my liking after using it for awhile, first of all when they say multipurpose they weren’t just trying to pull a fast one, this steam cleaner comes with a good amount of attachments, not counting the Velcro sticking microfiber pads, this has 4 heads, a steel wool scrubber for surfaces that require that extra scratching, a detail brush for all those little creases, a grout brush that removes those unsightly green moss or soap scum between your tiles, it also cleans the tiles, so you don’t have to change the attachments. The steam counter and floor attachment for cleaning flat surfaces works well, and you can attach the pads onto this head.

The Haan MS-30 Multi-Purpose Steam Cleaner has 12 steam jets, well a little basic knowledge here, the more steam jets you have the wider its effective range will be, so you won’t have to worry about missing a spot, in theory just run the head along the floor and wherever it lands will be cleaned.

The unit itself is not entirely bulky or hard to maneuver; the hose allows for wider movements, well not that much actually but I do like that you can control the steam on the handle, some surfaces like untreated/ uncoated wood don’t need steam, but sometimes there are those little cracks that trap incredibly touch dirt, scrubbing will always ruin the wood, and too much steam will make it warp, so the controls are really handy here.

The body holds a good amount of water, at 20 ounces it may not seem as much but it’s enough to last a well sized living room, or 30 minutes whichever runs it dry first. The heaters produce some really hot steam at 212 degrees Fahrenheit, it definitely kills bacteria.

But like the above statement about the one swipe clean, I said “in theory”, well honestly the cleaner doesn’t clean with one swipe, I am not sure what’s wrong with it but you may find yourself missing a few spots, this however does not happen with the pads.

A little downside that I experienced since the first time using this is that you have to make sure you apply a significant amount of pressure when trying to remove grime and tough stains, at one time I actually had to step on the head while using the scrub to clean my tiles.

Overall Haan MS-30 Multi-Purpose Steam Cleaner is pretty good, no chemical cleaners needed, scents are optional and regular old tap water is fine, it’s simple to use and gets the job done, well with a teensy bit more effort that is.
